Cassper Nyovest – Good For That

Cassper Nyovest has referred himself as a legend of the South African music industry this year on Twitter. Maybe he is factually a legend, the man keeps releasing hit on hits, when it comes to hip hop music Cassper has established himself not just as a power house in South Africa but in African Hip Hop Generally. This new song too titled Good For That has become a hit hours after release. With an amazing video this is one of the top hip hop songs of February.

Blaklez – Lepara

Blaklez is one of those hip hop artists that it feels like they are veterans in the industry already with consistent releases of new hip hop projects. He is most definitely one of the Mzansi hip hop acts with a huge catalogue. This new release is titled Lepara, it is straight up a rap song and his by flows are what I would call not tiring.

Saudi – Been Through It ft. Emtee

We’ve got an interesting rap joint here, “been through it” is what I will call a freshly served Afro Trap sound. Coming from two brilliant rappers formerly both on same record label, this is not their first time of working together on the same song but I swear most times they do I don’t get tired of their product. Saudi and Emtee should work together more..

Rouge – One By One ft. AKA

Like the above people these duo have collaborated several times and here is yet another R&B / Hip Hop track. Rouge is one of the certified hip hop music creators in South Africa collaborating with the Mega super himself you would expect a brilliant piece no doubts, but I must say I didn’t really enjoy it that much due to the auto tune.

Nadia Nakai – 40 Bars ft. Emtee & DJ Capital

We present to you a whole new single from the Family Tree gang Nadia Nakai comes in this year with a new rap single featuring Mzansi top acts Emtee and DJ Capital, though I’m not a huge fan of straight rap music I must say the 3 rappers did an amazing job on the track. 40 Bars is something you will enjoy if you love straight rap songs.

A-Reece – In His Image

This is certainly one of the top songs on the A-Reece newly released extended play EP. Many of the fans on Twitter have called this particular track their favorite, I think it’s a good hip hop song for an album song I don’t think it’s that interesting honestly.

Kly – Manna

Kly have returned after taking quite a short break in the industry, he has returned with a new debut for the new year, so when it comes to making rap music mixed with blues he can be noted as an expert.

A-Reece – Selfish

This is a new rap single off the A-Reece newly released EP, like I said above A-Reece has been trying to build his career since last year leaving Cassper Nyovest’s record label, he has dropped several songs which can be classified as successful but not that successful, either ways I think this new EP is a good EP overall.

Emtee – Wave

He declared bankruptcy last year but he has shown he is ready to recoup a lot of money back releasing new projects and featuring on several successful songs. Wave is one of the newest songs on his new EP. Looking at streaming numbers the song seems to be doing quite well commercially.

Priddy Ugly – Nightmares

Priddy Ugly has said many times himself he is one of the best rappers in South Africa, maybe he is right or maybe he is not that is up to you the listener to judge at the end of the day. Either ways this new single Nightmares seems to be a tune that is resonating with a lot of people.
