top gqom songs 2020

The Gqom trend maybe seem to be dying gradually since the Amapiano breakout last year but many Gqom music makers still drop bangers in South Africa, we have collected and curated the new gqom songs as of 2020 released recently featuring South Africa’s top Gqom acts. I personally have missed Gqom music since the Amapiano revolution, we barely get very dope Gqom songs anymore, but there are still few artists out there putting energy to create beautiful Gqom sounds. So following digital stats, stream numbers and download stats we have listed out for you the songs which are top and the best releases of this year so far.

List of the top Gqom songs released in 2020 so far:

Babes Wodumo – Corona ft. Mampintsha

The ever controversial South African act Babes Wodumo and her longtime lover and partner Mampintsha have used this pandemic period to their advantage by dropping a cool Gqom jam the Gqom audiences can rock while Coronavirus departs. The song of course sounds like every other Gqom song that was created based on a trend, so for me I would say its not that good.

DJ Sunco – Seanamarena ft. Queen Jenny

This duo have come together again to give their fans another Gqom hit since the success of Koko Mmatswale last year. DJ Sunco collaborates with partner in crime Queen Jenny who is still trying to find her feet in this crazy South African music industry. She is gaining grounds though. This particular release is another potential Gqom success.

Mampintsha – What Time Is It ft. Babes Wodumo

Well the South African Gqom couple have earned themselves another spot on this list. Yes, Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha released another song earlier this month before droping the Coronavirus song, this one for me is way better than the first and I am sure any Gqom head would agree with me. You have Listen and make your own judgment.

Hume Da Muzika – Music Therapy 2 ft. Mampintsha

Mampintsha seems to be trying to work his way back to the top of the Gqom chain this year after getting himself featured on these new releases. Of course he is not the owner of this particular track Hume Da Muzika featured him on a remix and it actually sounds really good.

DJ Jeje – Time To Shine ft. Peace

We’ve got the amazing DJ Jeje today, he is definitely one of of my favorite Gqom artists with his use of melody instead of repetitive noise like the others. He drops yet another amazing Gqom track to launch the year, this one is titled “Time To Shine” featuring a rising vocalist Peace. You need to take a listen to this and give me your feedback.

Madanon – Nayoke ft. Okmalumkoolkat

Oh yes! I’ve been expecting his Gqom debut since January but it’s not too late and my wait was worth it. The top Gqom music maker Madanon on this new Joint features Okmalumkoolkat to give us a new single titled Nayoke. This is definitely a potential hit Gqom track.

Tipcee – Nguyelo ft. Prince Bulo

You all know we only present you the best of the best so of course I saved Tipcee for the last, she too also dropped an amazing Gqom song this month and I can tell you for sure it is definitely going to be a hit soon. On this track she features another dance music creator like herself Prince Bulo added a nice touch to this.

Vista & DJ Catzico – Dance To It ft. Niniola

Vista & DJ Catzico have been one of the most consistent Gqom creators since the Amapiano revolution last year, they still do their best to give us sweet sweet Gqom songs like this. On this one they actually went as far as Nigeria to feature the Afro House queen Niniola on this one.

So if they keep on releasing more songs like this every month maybe Gqom music will not go extinct after all.
